Chandra Prabha, wife of Thakur Uday Pratap is very calm and silent lady. She has immense faith in God. She wants to give good education to her children so that they can face the world and the changing times with courage. She is the support system for the children and a silent participant in their happiness.

Swarn Lata

Swarn Lata

Swarn Lata is the married daughter of Thakur. She is a very traditional woman with not much education and regrets that she couldn't get the opportunity for higher education. She supports and encourages her siblings Prakash and Abha. She is married to Samarjeet but gets separated later.

Swarn Prakash

Swarn Prakash is a humorous character and enjoys his richness. He believes that with money he has achieved everything in life. He is not a graduate and very irresponsible even at the age of 28. He loves to imitate his father and pass time with his friends though he doesn't believe in friendship.

Later, he struggles in life to cope up with the changing times.

Swarn Abha

Swarn Abha is the main protagonist of the show. She is young, bright and a sagacious girl withholding on to her traditional and contemporary values. She is pampered and loves her family.

Abha is a very intelligent and wants to become a lawyer. But when she understands her father's emotions and traditional value system, she decides to give up on her ambition like an ideal daughter.

As days progress, her mother pushes her towards being responsible and initiates her towards household chores.

Thakur Uday Pratap

Thakur Uday Prataap, the owner of Swarn Bhavan is a man of pride. He is very stubborn and strict but at the same time he is a family man and can do anything for his family traditions. He cannot adjust with the new generation and doesn't accept the truth of changing times. He lives in falsehood and false pride.

Unaware of Prakash's being arrest for assaulting Kanika, Uday Pratap was busy managing Shridhar's sari business. While wrapping a sari, Uday Pratap uses the newspaper that has an article, which mentions about Prakash's arrest.

Raghav notices the article and manages to distract Uday Pratap's attention. Raghav later reads the article and gets furious. 

The news channels telecast the news regarding Prakash's arrest. Priyanka gets elated as she watches the news.

Karan along with Abha, Raj and Lata barge inside the Thakur residence to confront Kanika. Karan rages at Kanika for lodging a complaint against Prakash. Karan requests Kanika to withdraw the complaint as it would be shameful for both the families. However, Kanika refuses to listen.

Karan gets irritated by Kanika's response. Abha assures Karan that she would convince Kanika.

Abha tries to compel Kanika to withdraw her complaint. Kanika agrees to withdraw her complaint on a condition that Prakash must break ties with Uday Pratap, Abha and Lata. Abha is left shocked to hear Kanika's condition. Abha agrees to compel Prakash to sign on the document, which mentions that Prakash will keep no relation with the Thakurs.

Sheetal gets elated with Kanika's strategy. Kanika rejoices believing that Prakash will follow her instruction after he signs the document.  

Abha tries to compel Prakash to sign the document but he refuses to sign it. Prakash states that he does not want to separate from his family as he had done the mistake earlier, by supporting Kanika.

Abha tells Prakash that she was feeling bad to see his condition. Before leaving, Abha tells Prakash that she is hoping that he will sign the document.

In the previous episode, Lata and Raj got shocked when the police barged inside their house to arrest Prakash.

They get shocked to learn that Kanika had lodged a complaint against Prakash under domestic violence.

The Prasads try their best to locate Kanika's whereabouts. At that moment, Lata phones Abha and informs her about Prakash's arrest. She informs her regarding the complaint which Kanika had lodged. Lata expresses her anger at Abha. She believes that Abha and Karan should have stopped Kanika before she went ahead and lodged a complaint against Prakash.

Lata tells Abha that she was going to the police station to bail Prakash out. She tells Abha to try and come to the police station.

Outside the police station, women activists campaign for Kanika. The moment Kanika notices Prakash arriving with the police, she states that Prakash had physically assaulted her.

The activists create a hullabaloo and try to beat up Prakash. Just then Karan and Abha arrive. Karan handles the situation. Karan is about to reveal Kanika's true nature to the activists, when Kanika states that though Karan was her brother, he was not supporting her.

The police take Prakash inside the police station. The Prasads get disappointed when the inspector states that according to the law Prakash cannot be bailed out. He adds that Prakash could only be released if Kanika withdraws her complaint.

Expressing her disappointment, Pratibha states that Kanika always stated that she was not happy with Prakash however the family never paid attention to her. The inspector takes the opportunity and asks Pratibha to give her statement in writing. 

Karan and Abha tell Jagmohan to ask Pratibha to not give any statement to the police as it would only complicate the situation.

Abha calls up Raghav and narrates the entire scenario. She tells them to see to it that the news does not reach Uday Pratap as she fears her father will be shattered after learning it.

In the previous episode, Uday Pratap agreed to forgive Prakash only if he worked hard and became successful and was able to transform Kanika's behavior.

Uday Pratap believes Chandra Prabha's soul will be upset with him for not forgiving Prakash. In his defense, Uday Pratap explains that he deliberately put the condition as he wanted his son to realize the importance of a family. He believes that this would help Prakash to lead a happy life with Kanika.

The doctor starts enquiring with the Prasads after examining Kanika's injuries. Priyanka deliberately tells the doctor that Prakash had assaulted Kanika. She further mocks and insults Prakash in Abha's presence.

Concerned about Kanika, the doctor asserts that the family must take a stand and lodge a complaint against Prakash under the domestic violence act. The doctor adds that she will support Kanika.

Karan continues to be upset with Abha for supporting Kanika instead of punishing her. Abha explains that she was supporting Kanika as Prakash and the Prasads had abandoned her. She adds that it was the only way to save Kanika and Prakash's marriage.

Overcome by frustration and loathing for Kanika, Prakash ransacks all the household items which Kanika had purchased. Sheetal cools down Prakash's anger and handles the situation.

Priyanka instigates Kanika against Prakash. She compels Kanika to lodge a complaint against Prakash for assaulting her.

As per the plan, Priyanka informs the Prasads that Kanika had left from Swarn Bhavan. Pratibha gets concerned about Kanika.

Prakash goes to meet Lata at her residence. Lata and Raj get shocked when the police barges inside their house to arrest Prakash.

In the previous episode, Jagmohan slapped Kanika when she stated that Abha was falsely accusing her of aborting her child.

Jagmohan says that he was ashamed of Kanika's behavior towards Uday Pratap and his family. He orders Kanika to leave Swarn Bhavan.

Priyanka supports Kanika and states that it was inhuman of Prakash to assault Kanika. Just then, Raj arrives and states that both Prakash and Kanika were wrong in the way they behaved.

Priyanka continues to support Kanika. Karan states that Kanika had separated Prakash and Uday Pratap. He further states that Kanika had no right to live with the family.

To save herself, Kanika apologizes to Abha. Abha asserts that if the family was not ready to forgive their own daughter Kanika and accept her back, she too had no right to stay in Swarn Bhavan as she was the daughter-in-law. The Prasads are left stunned to hear Abha's decision.

Karan tries to stop Abha and reminds her about Kanika's mistakes. Abha explains that it would be wrong if they do not give Kanika a chance to improve. Lata intervenes and states that Kanika must suffer for her sins.

Abha expresses her concern over Kanika since neither her family nor Prakash was ready to accept her. Raj intervenes between Abha and Lata and states that Jagmohan must take the decision. To avoid argument, Raj tells Lata that they must leave.

To end the discussion, Jagmohan asserts that Kanika would no longer be a part of his family. Pratibha tries to compel Jagmohan to change his decision, but fails. Unable to bear the hatred of her family members, Kanika faints. Pratibha, Abha and Priyanka take Kanika to her room.

Prakash arrives at Uday Pratap's residence and apologizes to his father. Uday Pratap agrees to forgive Prakash only if he works hard and becomes successful and is able to transform Kanika's behavior.

Dai Ma tries to make Kanika understand that if she does not fulfill her responsibilities as a daughter-in-law, it would be difficult for her to become a cultured wife. Kanika gets upset and leaves in a huff.

Raj gets angry when Kanika addresses Dai Ma as a servant and insults her. Unable to bear the insult, Kanika tells Prakash that they must leave. Raj asserts that he would not ask Kanika to wait back as she does not know to respect elders.

Abha and the Prasads get shocked when Kanika arrives at Swarn Bhavan wearing dark glasses with her face covered.  The family is left shocked when they see Kanika's bruises. Kanika states that Prakash was responsible for her condition.

Prakash barges inside Swarn Bhavan and states that he assaulted Kanika after he learned that Kanika had aborted her child and held Uday Pratap responsible it.

Prakash tells the Prasads that he found Kanika's medical reports after he returned from Lata's residence. He tells them that Sheetal was trying to find a bill in the house, when she accidentally left Kanika's medical reports and the letter which Abha had written for him. The letter landed in Prakash's hands while he was praying.

The letter read that Abha had sent a copy of Kanika's medical reports which mentioned that Kanika had aborted her child. Prakash then called up Kanika's gynecologist and confirmed the news. Unable to bear the truth, Prakash assaulted Kanika.

Kanika tries to complain to Jagmohan that Abha's letter had instigated Prakash against her. She adds that Abha wanted to prove Uday Pratap's innocent and therefore falsely accused her of aborting her child. Unable to bear the Kanika's lies, Jagmohan slaps her hard.
