Mona

Young vivacious, beautiful, truthful and honest, Mona is the youngest of the Bedi grandchildren. Like her mother, she is liberal to a fault and ever ready to help. Her tendency to help others worries Amrit Taijee. However, each time Mona is able to emerge victorious, without any harm coming her way. Though Harnam credits Gods for Mona's fortune, he frets about her future. He fears that her innocence will not be able to protect her, especially when she has the knack of landing herself into trouble.

Anukalp

Anukalp is spirited and full of life. An engineer with a post graduate degree in business administration, Anukalp works for an MNC in Delhi. Anukalp takes a little time to open up but he is friendly, reliable, witty and sensitive. Moving to Delhi was a culture shock but Anukalp adapted well to the big city.

Anukalp is most attached to his mother and expects his wife to be like her. His relationship with his Daadi is, however, different. Daadi is very fond of him yet his strong affiliation with his mother, results in Daadi trying to pull Anukalp into her orbit of influence.

He respects his Dada jee and and hopes to walk on the path shown by his grandfather.
Anukalp understands his father's desire to prove himself and hence, keeps getting brochures of new business start-ups.

Anukalp is aware of his responsibility to his sisters. He hopes to find right grooms for them and get them married off sooner or later.

The open flirting of Delhi girls unnerves him. He is comfortable talking to Mona. Though attracted to her initially, he backs out realizing the cultural and regional differences between the two families.

Bharati

Bharti is contradiction personified. She is strict yet fair, disciplinarian yet sensitive, authoritative yet polite and dutiful. She loves her husband but wants him to be more confident and enterprising. She is too strong a figure for her husband and at times intimidates him.
She will go to any extent to ensure that her children's interests are safeguarded. She respects her mother-in-law and seeks her advice but does what she thinks is right.

A woman of few words, she is the most powerful figure in the Gandhi family. She is systematic and meticulous and expects her future bahu to follow suit. Bharati is proud of her son Anukalp and possessive about him.

Vimmi

The epitome of innocence, Vimmi often lands in embarrassment because of her tendency to shoot her mouth. Vimmi knows she is not good in taking care of the family and no match to Amrit Kaur. So she utilizes her energies to dress well and impress her husband Satnaam, who loves her dearly. Though she loves her daughter Mona and remains concerned about her, Vimmi barely understands her. Vimmi prefers Sweetie for company over Mona. Both share similar interests – love to dress up, wear ornaments and gossip. Vimmi is the only one who understands her nephew Karan.

Vimmi gets elated when Bharati phones her and informs her that Hetal and Karan would soon return to the Bedi residence. Vimmi expresses her happiness to Satnaam, Sweety and Parmeet. Parmeet gets irritated on learning the news.

Angry at Bharati, Hetal asserts that she will take all her belongings to the Bedi residence as she does not want her mother to be concerned about her. Bharati tries to explain to Hetal that she was concerned about her future and so she had asked her to return to Bedi residence. Hetal, however, is not willing to return to the Bedi residence. To convince Hetal, Mona intervenes and states that the Bedis loved her more than the Gandhis. Hetal gets angry on Mona's statement.

Before Hetal and Karan could leave, Mona feeds them curd as she believes that it will bring good luck to the couple. Just before Hetal could step out of the house, she gets stomach contractions. Karan panics and immediately calls the doctor.

On examining Hetal, the doctor advises bed rest to her since her blood pressure level was too low.

At that moment Satnaam and Vimmi arrive at the Gandhi residence to check why Hetal did not return to Bedi residence. The couple gets apprehensive on learning about Hetal's condition.

Vimmi assures that she will take good care of Hetal at the Bedi residence. Hetal, who is not willing to return to the Bedi residence, signals Bijal to handle the situation. Bijal tells Vimmi that Hetal could not leave as the doctor has advised her to take bed rest.

To end the discussion, Ketaki asks Hetal to rest in her room. Hetal gets surprised when Ketaki clarifies that she has asked her to rest in her room at the Bedi residence. Hetal is forced to return to Bedi residence. Bijal assures Hetal that she will create situations, which would force the Bedi family to send her back to the Gandhi residence.

Ketaki gets elated after Hetal returns to the Bedi residence.

In the previous episode, Mona tried to compel Ketaki to consume the khichdi.

After Mona leaves from the room, Bharati tells Ketaki that despite of getting insulted by Ketaki, Mona had specially prepared the khichdi without groundnuts for her. Bharati tries her best to make Ketaki realize that she and Mona cared about her and hence she must change her decision of leaving from the Gandhi residence.

Anukalp apologizes to Karan on Ketaki's behalf. He expresses his irritation at Ketaki for insulting both the Gandhi and the Bedi family and threatening to leave the house. Karan assures Anukalp that he did not mind her words as Ketaki was elder to him. 

Later, Ketaki advises Bharati to ask Hetal and Karan to return to the Bedi residence. Bharati states that she was unable to talk with Hetal over the topic.

Hetal and Bijal are about to leave for shopping when Ketaki stops them and asks Bharati to speak to her. Bharati broaches the topic of Hetal staying at her maternal home and asks her to return to her in-laws. Hetal gets angry and states that Bharati never wanted her to stay with them.

Ketaki comments on Hetal's rude statements and adds that it was only because of Hetal's ill-mannered behavior that the Bedis were not asking her to return.

When Bijal intervenes and states that Hetal would not leave the Gandhi residence, Ketaki asserts that Bijal wanted Hetal to follow her footsteps and keep staying at her maternal home. Bijal gets insulted; however she was forced to remain silent by Bharati. 

Karan gets elated when Ketaki tells him that the Gandhis would escort him and Hetal to the Bedi residence. She apologizes to Karan for all the inconveniences caused to him during his stay with them.

Ketaki also apologizes for keeping the Bedi family away from their heir. Ketaki asks Bharati to inform the Bedis about Hetal and Karan's return.

In the previous episode, Ketaki got shocked when she learned that the Gandhis and the Bedis were related.

Ketaki gets angry as Bharati had lied to her that Mona hailed from Delhi and belonged to a Gujarati family. She asserts that she has lost her trust in Bharati as her sister has deceived her. Ketaki continues to insult Mona.

The family gets shocked when Vimmi arrives. Unable to bear the remarks against Mona, Vimmi states that the family was scared of her and did not confide in her only because of her harsh nature. Mona signals to Vimmi to keep quiet but Vimmi but fails. Karan handles the situation and compels Vimmi to return.

Ketaki comments that Bharati had spoiled Hetal and Anukalp's life by getting them married in to a Punjabi family.

Unable to bear the insults, Bijal asserts that Ketaki had no right to speak ill of the Gandhi family members. In anger, Bijal states that it was only due to Ketaki's strict behavior that her own family broke ties with her. She adds Ketaki was jealous of the Gandhis and therefore wanted to create issues. On hearing the insult, Ketaki leaves in a huff.

Bharati rushes to pacify her. Ketaki reminds Bharati about the sacrifices she had made for her sake. Bharati explains that she was forced surrender to the situation. She adds that she had to accept Mona as her daughter-in-law as the Bedi family's honor was dependent on her decision. She adds that Anukalp too was love with Mona.  

Just then Mona knocks on the door. She tells Ketaki that she had prepared khichdi without groundnuts for her. Ketaki refuses to eat, however Mona tries to compel her to eat.

In the previous episode, Ketaki complained as Mona had not finished her household chores and stepped out to visit the Bedis. When Mona tried to give an explanation, Bharati scolded her and asked her to accept her mistake instead of arguing.

Anukalp tells Bharati that she should not have scolded Mona as she went to the Bedi residence only because Vimmi was concerned about her. He adds that Vimmi wanted to know why everyone was so awkward at the Gandhi residence.

Sweety climbs on the stool to remove a container. She loses her balance and has a fall. When Vimmi notices Sweety's condition, she immediately rushes her to the hospital.

Ketaki is about to start eating the sabudana khichdi when she notices that it had groundnuts. She gets livid at Mona as she had warned her in advance. She accuses that Mona wanted to kill her and therefore added crushed groundnuts so that they go unnoticed. Ketaki adds that she was severely allergic to groundnuts.

Ketaki further states that Mona had insulted her by not respecting her orders. She adds that she had specifically told Mona in Gujarati that she must not add groundnuts in the khichdi. In anger, Ketaki asserts that Mona's parents had not inculcated values and manners in her.

Unable to bear the insult, Mona asks Ketaki to stop accusing her maternal family. She adds that she could insult her as she had committed a mistake.

To add to the problems, one of the assistants from Satnaam's shop comes over to the Gandhi residence to deliver some items since no one was present at the Bedi residence. Karan and Mona get apprehensive when the assistant enters the Gandhi residence.

Ketaki finds it awkward since the assistant was keeping the items which belonged to the Bedi family at the Gandhis residence. Karan and Mona try to signal the assistant to not reveal to Ketaki who he was but fail. Ketaki gets shocked when the assistant states that the house opposite the Gandhis belonged to Karan and Mona and that the Bedi residence was Mona's maternal home.

Hetal plans to put Mona in trouble by pouring oil instead of ghee in the temple's lamp. She believes that Ketaki will hold Mona responsible for it and get mad at her.

Before the govardhan puja could commence, Kinjal notices oil in the lamp and replaces it with ghee. When Hetal and Bijal come to check the lamp, they are left irritated to see that someone had replaced oil and poured ghee in the lamp. However, the duo gets excited when Ketaki asks Mona to prepare sabudana khichdi.

Ketaki specifically adds that groundnuts must not be present in the dish. In the flow of the conversation, Ketaki gives this particular instruction in Gujarati. Bharati and Sejal are left apprehensive as Mona had no idea how to make the dish.

Concerned about Mona, Vimmi phones her and enquires with her about the Gandhis behaving awkwardly in Ketaki's presence. Keeping the urgency of the situation in mind,
Mona tells Vimmi that she would explain the situation later.

Mona believes that Ketaki wanted additional groundnuts in the khichdi and generously adds groundnuts.

Mona takes permission from Bharati to go to the market. Mona is about to leave when Ketaki stops her and asks her to narrate a holy stanza in Gujarati. Just then, Anukalp arrives and handles the situation. Anukalp asks Mona to get a blank CD for him.

With an excuse to purchase a CD, Mona visits the Bedi residence. Mona tells Vimmi that the Gandhis are troubled because of the rules and regulations which Ketaki has set. Vimmi gets upset when she learns that since Ketaki was against inter-caste marriage, she and Karan are forced to hide their real identity.  

Ketaki gets irritated when she notices Mona coming out of the Bedi residence. Ketaki confronts Mona and expresses her anger. She also states that Mona has to choose between the Gandhis and the Bedis.

To add Mona in further trouble, Hetal smartly keeps a bucket full of washed clothes in the hall. Ketaki gets further irritated when she notices that Mona had not completed her household chores and stepped out. She complains to Bharati about her. When Mona tries to give an explanation, Bharati scolds Mona and asks her to accept and improvise her mistakes instead of arguing.

Anukalp feels bad as Bharati was scolding Mona instead of pacifying her.
