Archana

Archana (Ankita Lokhande) is the ideal daughter any parent would love to have. Always ready to sacrifice her happiness for the welfare of others, Archana droped out of school to take care of her younger siblings.

Sulochana

Kind, considerate and humility personified, Sulochana (Savita Prabhune) is a typical Maharashtrian housewife. She worries about finding a suitable match for her daughter Archana. Fears of failure, results in Sulochana getting panic attacks.
A woman of principles, Sulochana is fiercely protective of her family.

Manohar Karanjkar

Sulochana's husband and Archana's father, Manohar (60) is very practical by nature and has seen several ups and downs in life. Currently leading a retired life after several years of service in Indian Railways, Manohar never loses his cool even in tense situations. He has frequent arguments with Sulochana over Archana's marriage. Manohar loves Archana a lot and always support her.

Vinod Karanjkar

Manohar and Sulochana's eldest child, Vinod (Parag Tyagi) is protective about Archana, Varsha and Vaishali. Vinod is employed with a ticket checker (TC) in the Indian Railways. Vinod is kind and humble by nature, unlike his wife Manjusha. Vinod doesn't approve Manjusha's attitude but suffers in silence to maintain peace in the family.

Manjusha Karanjkar

Vinod's selfish and egotistic wife, Manjusha (Swati Anand) has no respect for her in-laws. Hailing from a rich family, Manjusha considers the Karanjikars inferior and leaves no opportunity to insult them. Manjusha hates contributing to the household chores.

Employed with the Income Tax department, Manjusha wants to move out of the Dombivli residence of Karanjikars along with Vinod and their daughter Purnima. She hates Archana and believes that the family gives her undue importance. Manjusha often insults Archana for not being able to find a suitable husband.

In the earlier episode, the boy who had come as marriage alliance for Purnima likes Purvi and insists on marrying her. Manjusha insults the boy and his mother and ask them to leave. She then accuses Purvi of ruining Purnima's life.

Archana gets livid and warns Manjusha not to insult her daughter. She threatens Manjusha of dire consequences if she ever dared to do so.

Manjusha retorts that Archana could not understand mother-child relationship as Purvi was an adopted child. She says that only she could understand Purnima's plight as she was her biological mother.

Sulochana gets angry hearing this and taunts that a person like Manjusha should not prophesize on mother's emotions. Archana, Sulochana and Purvi storm out of the house.

Purvi tries to pacify an upset Archana saying that she was sorry for being the reason for the argument. Archana retorts that just like she taught Manjusha a lesson she would stand up for her daughter for anyone in the world.

Meanwhile, boiling with fury Manjusha declares that she would never allow Sulochana and Archana into her house. Vinod angrily says that after how she behaved with his family he had to guts to face them.

Manav apprises DK of how the business was progressing. Just then, Ovi calls up DK to ask when Arjun was expected. When DK mentions it to Manav, Manav says that the two were childhood friends and had not met for a long time.

Ovi gets upset when Arjun fails to call her inspite of being in the city. Saddened she goes up to Manav to comfort herself. Ovi tells Manav that she wanted to be in his company as cold weather, snowfall and lightning depressed her. Manav comforts Ovi and recollects Archana's similar statements. Ovi falls asleep in Manav's lap.

Meanwhile, Archana expresses to Purvi how proud she was of her for her academic achievements. Archana says that she always wanted to pursue higher studies but couldn't and that Purvi would realize her dream.

In their college campus in Canada, a tomboyish Tejaswini questions Ovi why she was wearing short clothes. Saying that it was a one piece dress, Ovi starts walking away.

One of the boys in the campus comments that Ovi was looking hot. Tejaswini drags him towards Ov and makes him ask her if she was interested in her. When Ovi says that she was not interested, Tejaswini sternly tells the boy to back off. When the boy persists, Tejaswini punches him and warns him never to flirt with her sister again.

Later at home, Ovi gets apprehensive wondering if she was looking good enough to welcome Arjun, DK's son. Tejaswini asks Ovi to not bother much as Arjun was more interested in his business, accounts books, profit and loss than her clothes and make up.

Manjusha and Vinod make preparations for the groom's family to arrive. When Sulochana, Archana and Purvi enter, Manjusha comments that they had come all decked up for the event.

The groom arrives with his mother to meet Punni (Purnima) and the family. Manjusha and the groom's mother boast about their respective children. When the groom's mother almost agrees to Purnima's alliance, her son requests her to come aside for a moment.

To everyone's surprise, the boy mentions to his mother that he had liked Purvi and did want to get married to Purnima. His mother tries to explain to him that they had come for Purnima's alliance and that Purvi was only one of the family members.

Manjusha gets furious hearing the boy and his mother. She accuses the mother-son of insulting them by proposing Purvi's alliance instead of Purnima's for whom they had originally come. Manjusha abuses the duo and asks them to leave. The groom's mother tries to apologize on her son's behalf however her son insists that he would get married only to Purvi.

After the duo leaves, Archana tries to pacify Manjusha saying that it was good that the true nature of the groom was revealed before they went ahead with Purnima's marriage with him. However, Manjusha turns around and accuses Archana of conspiring against Purnima and hampering her marriage prospects. She adds that the groom would anyways have rejected Purvi's proposal on knowing that she was an orphan and had been adopted by Archana.

Archana gets livid and warns Manjusha not to insult her daughter Purvi and her mother Sulochana. She threatens Manjusha of dire consequences if she ever dared to do so.

Purvi tells Archana that she wanted to go for a film with her and Sulochana to celebrate her wedding anniversary. Archana refuses saying that she didn't want to and that Sulochana too would not accompany them.

DK mentions to Manav that he has come to realize that Manav often seemed agitated whenever Archana was mentioned. Manav refuses saying that he has moved on with Archana's memories and that it does not matter to him anymore.

Vinod calls up Sulochana and requests her to come over as they had called over a prospective groom's family for Punni's marriage alliance. Sulochana, at first, talks sternly but melts when Vinod mentions about Punni. She agrees to come over.

Sulochana worries how she will be able to arrange money to buy Ruchi's shagun. Archana suggests that they could break the fixed deposit kept on Purvi's name. However, Sulochana opposes saying that Purvi may be hurt and misunderstand that they used up her money as she was not their biological child.

Purvi overhears their conversation and confronts Archana and Sulochana. She states that all the money she had was for her mother and grandmother and that they should not alienate her by discussing such things. Archana and Sulochana are touched.

Manjusha rejoices and mentions to Punni that if the marriage proposal came through, she would be married into a respectable and wealthy family.

DK tells Manav that during the felicitation function, the Deshmukhs seemed to be upset with him since he had remembered that his wedding anniversary was on the very day.

Manav states that however angry he was, he cannot forget their wedding anniversary date. He tells DK that the marriage gave him happiness in form of his daughters and grief by way of Soham's death. 

Manav states that even though Archana had walked out of his life, she had left behind for him plight and pain which he could never forget.

Back in Mumbai, Archana goes to the temple and prays to God to reunite her and Manav. She believes that Manav too must have not forgotten their relationship.

Savita is upset as Manav remembered his wedding anniversary. Savita had tried various means to hide the date from Manav, but failed. She fears that Manav must be apprehensive and gloomy after remembering his wedding anniversary day. Savita believes Damodar must have reminded Manav about his wedding anniversary.

Savita believes that Manav has brought cake to celebrate his wedding anniversary. However, Manav clarifies that he brought the cake to celebrate his success. Manav along with his daughters and parents enjoys the joyful moments.

On her way back home, Archana meets her friend, Saloni, in the bus. She introduces Purvi as her daughter. Saloni enquires with Archana about Manav and her twin daughters. Archana tells Saloni that her daughters were with Manav.

When Saloni leaves, Purvi asks Archana as to why she did not tell Saloni that she was not staying with Manav. Archana smartly handles the situation. She also tells Purvi that wherever Manav was, she knows that he was fine.

The story takes a leap of 18 years. Archana lives her life afresh with her adopted daughter Purvi and Sulochana. Manohar is no longer with Archana and Sulochana, however they try their best to lead their life.

Like Archana, Purvi too takes care of Sulochana's needs and happiness. Purvi remembers that it was Archana and Manav's wedding anniversary and hence takes a day off from her office.

Purvi writes anniversary wishes for Archana on the calendar and deliberately notes down a number next to it. Archana gets emotional when she notices that Purvi has marked her wedding anniversary date on the calendar; however she does not say a word. Purvi believes Archana has not seen the calendar properly.

When Sulochana notices the calendar, she tears off the page in anger. She tells Purvi that she deliberately tore the page.

Back in Canada, Manav has achieved fame and success. DK hosts a function to felicitate Manav for his achievements.

A businessman present at the function tells DK that besides being a successful businessman, Manav was a good human being too. He learns that Manav was waiting for his daughters to get ready and hence may get late for the function.

Ovi and Tejaswini believe that Manav has forgotten his wedding anniversary.

Archana misses Manav as she remembers their special memories.

DK felicitates Manav by awarding him with an award.  Manav addresses that it is a special day for him since it was his wedding anniversary too. He states that his family members believe that he has forgotten his anniversary. He adds that his wedding anniversary was important for him because it gave him the happiness of being Ovi, Tejaswini and Sachin's father. Manav dedicates the award to his children.
